Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomington, IL has a number of opportunities for people to serve including:
- Church Council – manages the business of the church and oversees the other boards
- Board of Elders – those who help Pastor with the service and help to tend to the spiritual needs of the members of Good Shepherd
- Board of Stewardship – those who work on various programs related to our stewardship of the gifts God has given us, whether they be gifts of time, talent, or treasure
- Board of Evangelism – those who work on ways to spread the Word of God in our community through community outreach programs
- Board of Education – oversees the administration of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other educational matters outside of Worship
- Board of Trustees – those who oversee matters relating to the physical property of the church
- Ushers – assist with communion and distribution of bulletins for Worship
- Acolytes – assist with lighting the candles during the Worship service
- Choir – contributes to Worship via song
- Altar Guild – prepares the Altar for Worship including paraments and setting up for Communion
- Prayer Chain – offers prayer for requested needs
- Nursery Attendants – provides supervision for children who need time outside of Worship
- Quilting – 1st Thursday of the month – 1pm
- Lady’s Bible Study – September to May, 1st and 3rd Tuesday 9:30am
